I just received a message from a user called "support" asking for payment details. That "support" account was created less than a day ago.  The user then started sending rude and threatening message if I did not provide payment details.

Same here. They are using PokeChange's icon, and the landing page requires your payment detail.

I also got this email. The all caps follow-up really screams scam.

I received another one again warning they will block account very soon unless I give credit card info... my response will be "Oh you are so scary, please don't, please don't... make me die from laughter"

maybe as the site grows, it's worth exploring a way for users to flag an account and/or temporarily suspend it until it can be investigated. within 7 hours a scammer can reach a lot of people and not everyone understands what phishing is

I replied a good number of times counting down to spam them a little... and said sarcastically "I am still waiting to be blocked, hurry up."  It will annoy them if everyone spammed them back and partially wasted their time from conning other users

Hi,

Thank you for your reports and vigilance regarding the fraudulent messages sent by an impersonating account through our internal messaging system.

The incident appears to be the result of an automated script used to send messages in bulk via a fake account, which has now been suspended.

The malicious website has been reported and is now neutralized. Additional actions have been taken with hosting providers and the registrar.

We are also reinforcing our protections (including messaging limits and security measures) to prevent this from happening again.

Important:

We will never ask for your banking details or passwords via message or link
Do not click on suspicious links
If you have entered any information, please contact your bank immediately

To assist authorities, please send any screenshots you may have ([email protected]). This will help CERT and law enforcement act quickly.

Thank you again for your vigilance and your trust.

Hello everyone,

We have recently identified a new occurrence of this issue.

The accounts involved have been suspended, an additional limitation has been added to the sending of proposals to reduce the risk of further attempts of this kind, and a security reminder is now displayed in the messaging area.

I remain fully vigilant on this matter. Please note that Pokechange will never ask for your banking information by private message. If you receive a suspicious message, do not click on any link and report it to me immediately.

Thank you all for your vigilance.
